Understand Annual Upsell offers, upgrades, and committed value
View Markdown

Use Annual Upsell analytics to review automatic campaign performance over a selected date range. The dashboard includes headline metrics, an over-time chart, a breakdown by plan, and recent upgrades.

Select the date range in the top-right corner. Use How It's Measured to review the dashboard's metric explanations.

All numbers shown are fictional and were added for illustration: 48 upgrades, $115,200.00 cash committed, 1,200 offers shown, and a warm audience of 320. They do not represent actual or expected campaign results.

Read the metrics

MetricMeaning
Offers shownAutomatic offers recorded for display in live mode. This is not a count of unique customers or a guarantee that each customer viewed the offer.
UpgradesAccepted automatic offers recorded as conversions during the selected period.
Cash committedThe recorded value of the destination plan for those upgrades.
Warm audienceThe most recent measured engagement-qualified audience in the selected period, when engagement-based targeting is configured.
Plan conversion rateUpgrades divided by offers shown for that plan.

Cash committed is based on the recorded plan price. It is not a report of collected payments, net revenue, or incremental revenue. Discounts, tax, credits, and proration can make the actual invoice amount different. Use your billing provider to reconcile payments.

Amounts are grouped by currency without currency conversion. The headline cash metric and chart use the currency with the highest committed value for the selected range.

Comparisons use the preceding period of the same length. When the prior period has no activity, a percentage change may be unavailable.

Automatic and customer-requested offers

The headline campaign metrics cover automatic offers. Offers opened through triggerAnnualUpsell() are not included in these automatic-offer metrics, even when the customer accepts.

Customers who switch plans independently of an offer are also excluded from the dashboard's offer-upgrade count. This keeps the number focused on accepted automatic offers rather than every annual subscription change.

Holdout and campaign impact

A holdout group lets eligible customers continue without seeing the automatic offer. Comparing treatment and holdout conversions helps evaluate campaign impact.

The number of accepted offers alone does not measure incremental impact: some customers might have switched without seeing an offer. Contact the Churnkey team if you need help interpreting the campaign experiment or its observation window.

Sessions and missing data

Session records help investigate how customers interacted with an offer. If session recording is enabled and a recording was captured, you can review it alongside the interaction. Not every session will have a recording.

Analytics can take time to reflect an accepted offer. If the dashboard reports that analytics is temporarily unavailable, do not interpret that as zero upgrades. Check again later or contact support with the date range and customer examples you are investigating.
